13 March 2019

On Friday, 8th March 2019, the Ethiopian Ambassador for Malta, Her Excellency Zenebu Tadesse Woldetsadik made an official visit to Medelec Switchgear Ltd accompanied by Malta’s Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, His Excellency Ronald Micallef and First Secretary Petros Melaku and First Secretary Kambiro Ghacha Giloya.

The principal aim of this visit was to introduce the Ethiopian delegation to the products and services that Medelec can offer and for Medelec to learn more about the opportunities and prospects for doing business in Ethiopia.

Ambassador Tadesse Woldetsadik was impressed with what she saw on the premises and advised that her country, which has a population of more than 100 million, can offer the company many opportunities in a very large market for its high quality engineering products.

On its part, Medelec can visualize the opportunities for its products and services in Africa’s leading economy for the last 10 years as it reaches the completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

It was agreed that through the efforts of both Ambassadors Medelec management will make an exploratory trip to Ethiopia towards the end of May with the aim of identifying tangible ways of doing business in the country.
